Stanford beat UConn 70-59 at home to snap the 90 game winning streak. That is the longest streak in basketball history, 2 more than UCLA's famous streak in the Wooden era. Stanford was also the last team to beat UConn in 2008.
While I'm not a big fan of women's basketball 90 games is a long streak. That did include 31 games against Top 25 teams. UConn plays at a high level and got teams' best shot every night, so almost 3 full seasons of winning in any sport is a hell of an accomplishment.
For the record, I'm all for girls and women playing basketball. In terms of me watching it though, the watchability is....ugh...unless you're watching it at the very highest levels, like the US Women's basketball team, or UConn or Tennessee.
