Tigers fall back into a first place tie with Cleveland

Detroit jumped out to a 3-0 lead on Cleveland in the top of the first, but Cleveland came roaring back. They claimed a 6-4 win. Brad Penny lasted only 3.1 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 8 hits. Charlie Furbush gave up a run in 1.2 innings of work. He ended up taking his first Major League loss. He's 1-1 on the season.

Brennan Boesch hit his 9th homer of the season and had 2 RBIs. Alex Avila was 2-2 with 2 walks and 2 RBIs.

Victor Martinez was 2-4 with 2 doubles. Magglio Ordonez was 1-3 for his first hit since he returned from the DL.
