John Henson deflected the in-bounds while defending the baseline. Dexter Strickland corralled the ball and made both ends of a 1-and-1.

The drama wasn't quite over. Washington threw up a half court shot with more than 2 seconds left on the clock, for whatever reason. Maybe the guy thought UNC was going to foul him with fouls to give. But John Henson let the well-off course shot slip through his hands and land out of bounds. So game over? Nope, Washington's ball under their own basket with 0.5 seconds left. In truth it should have been more like 1 second, but the refs didn't check the time.

Washington missed the catch and shoot at the buzzer. Henson mysteriously tried to bat the ball off the rim for no reason, leading to goaltending. The shot was a 2 with a foot on the line so the brain cramp, if called, wouldn't have tied the game.

But wow. UNC escaped 86-83. Roy Williams needs to do some mental coaching with Henson though. Let the last shot sale out of bounds and time expires or UNC gets it back with less than a second left. Game over. But touch it and give Washington one last gasp. Then nearly bat a shot that was well short off the rim off and get a cheap goaltend.
