some more Justin Verlander milestones after tonight

With the win tonight Justin Verlander is the first Tigers pitcher since Denny McClain in 1968 to earn wins in 9 straight starts.

Verlander is now the third pitcher in the last 30 years to win 15 games in a season following a loss for his team.  Verlander is now 15-3 with a 1.74 ERA following a Tigers loss this season.  Kinda sad that he has only 6 wins in games after a Tiger victory.  That's why they need better pitching out of the #5 spot so they can string together more winning streaks.  Doug Fister has helped but the 5 spot is still 4-13 (4-15 after some specific research) on the season by my quick count.

The other two pitchers who have won 15 games after team losses are Felix Hernandez for Seattle in 2009 and Roger Clemens for Boston in 1992.
