Ugly start to interleague play for Detroit

Once upon a time Detroit was tied with Pittsburgh 1-1 with 1 out in the bottom of the 6th. Then the wheels fell off. The Pirates scored 6 in the 6th and 3 more in the 9th to run away with the game 10-1.

Brad Penny gave up 5 runs in 5.2 innings pitched, 2 of those being inherited by Brayan Villareal that scored, and fell to 4-4 on the season. Detroit has now lost 4 straight and is back to .500 at 22-22. Up and down. Up and down.

Ramon Santiago accounted for the only Tiger run with his first home run of the season. He was 2-3. Miguel Cabrera was 2-4. But for the 5th straight game, not alot of offense.
