Tigers again got beat up today

Brad Penny pitched reasonably well, 4 earned runs in 7 innings pitched, but didn't get much support. Alex Avila's 2 run double were the only runs. Seattle scored 3 more against Ryan Perry. They won 7-2, to sweep Detroit for the first time since 2003. Getting swept at home hurts.

Brennan Boesch was 2-4 with a double for Detroit. Brad Penny is now 1-3 on the season. Detroit fell back to 12-13 on the season.

Now with a 3 game trip to Cleveland before returning back home Detroit is taking a bus for the 180 mile trip down to Cleveland. It's the first time they haven't traveled by plane for a road trip in 10 years.

But it's a 2 and a half hour bus ride and the Red Wings have the team plane for their playoff series in San Jose against the Sharks.
