Today's great pitching performance came from Max Scherzer. He struck out 7 and allowed 4 hits in 8 innings pitched. Scherzer is now 4-0 on the season. Brandon Inge and Austin Jackson had back-to-back 2 out RBI doubles in the 6th inning. Alex Avila also drove in a run.
Jose Valverde closed out the 9th for his 5th save of the season. Detroit completed the series sweep with a 3-0 victory.
Jackson was 2-4, his second straight multi-hit game. Hopefully he's finally breaking out of his slump. Brennan Boesch was also 2-4.
Detroit swept Chicago in the series and has won 4 straight games to improve to 12-10 on the season. The sweep is very nice. The fact that Detroit outscored the White Sox 23-3 in doing it is very surprising.
