Tigers earn their second straight walk-off win

Brandon Inge hit his first home run of the season with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th to give Detroit a 3-2 win over Texas. He'd driving in a run with a sacrifice fly earlier.

That earned Jose Valverde a win for the second straight day. He's now 2-0 on the season.

Brennan Boesch went 2-4 with an RBI double. He also stole his 2nd base of the season. Both teams scored 2 runs in the 6th. Max Scherzer allowed those 2 runs in 6 innings pitched. He struck out 7.

Bryan Villarreal pitched 2 innings of 1 hit relief. He actually had to pitch today. Yesterday he pitched one-third of an inning without ever throwing a pitch. He came in to relieve Brad Penny in the 7th and picked off the baserunner to end the inning.

Will Rhymes was 2-4 as he tries to get his offense going. Victor Martinez had a double.

Detroit is now 5-7 on the season. We'll see if maybe they're now building a bit of momentum and confidence in some guys. So far the Big Bats of Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez are hitting well. Brennan Boesch, Ryan Raburn, and Alex Avila are hitting pretty well, though the overall clutch hitting isn't good other than Cabrera.

Austin Jackson and Will Rymes are struggling at the top of the lineup. Magglio Ordonez is getting some hits but doesn't have an RBI yet. Brandon Inge has been light hitting as well, though a homer and 2 RBIs today will maybe bring him around.
